Funding Opportunities
Seed Grant Program
The interdisciplinary seed grant program supports researchers to develop proposals for externally funded projects. Seed grant proposals are required to have a collaborative interdisciplinary component, for example, pairing someone from the health sciences with someone from the social sciences. The proposals need to identify a source of funding that is targeted, and the deliverable is a grant proposal for that funding. Competitions will be held once each year. Announcements of the competitions will be widely circulated, two months advance of the deadline. Awardees are strongly encouraged to present their final proposals in the seminar series to promote feedback and advice from their peers. The selection committee is appointed by the Center Director, Professor Ngugi and will include the Associate Director, Professor Ikamari. The funding level is $12,000/year, and the costs are being funded by the UW match commitment. At this level, we anticipate funding one or two proposals each year.
