Fogarty Fellowships
The University of Washington has a very strong curriculum in advanced methodological training for social scientists. This includes a range of traditional graduate level courses taught in the Statistics and Biostatistics departments, advanced methods courses in Anthropology, Sociology, Economics, Geography and the curriculum offered through the UW Center for Statistics and the Social Sciences (www.csss.washington.edu). UW PI Morris holds a joint appointment in Statistics at the UW.
We will provide access to these courses through fellowships in the UW IARTP program. One of the goals of the IARTP is to foster international collaborative AIDS research through scientist exchange by providing foreign investigators with research training at the University of Washington in epidemiologic, biostatistical, clinical, laboratory and behavioral methodologies which can be applied to AIDS investigation. Since 1988, over 150 foreign scientists from 23 different countries have participated in IARTP training.
