Joseph N. Njeru
Financial Administrator (CHIVPR/KEFA)
Mr. Njeru is an Accountant by training (CPA/BBA-Ongoing) with over 20 years experience in accounting, financial management, personnel and general administration with NGOs and donor funded Projects. He joined the multi-donor funded (CIDA, USAID, BMGF, DFID) Strengthening STD/HIV Control Project of the Universities of Nairobi and Manitoba in 1998. The Project ended in 2006 and was succeeded by the University of Nairobi Centre for HIV Prevention and Research of which Mr. Njeru continued as Financial Administrator from inception to date.
Anne W. Gikuni, MA MED SOC: BA COM/COM DEV: ADV. DIP NURSING EDUCATION, ADMIN, RESEARCH, PUBLIC HEALTH: DIP KRN/KRM
Programme Coordinator-UON-CHIVPR/Research Assistant-KeFA
Anne Gikuni is a Social Scientist with over 25 years hands on experience in various fields including Education/Training facilitation, Clinical and Community oriented Research, supportive supervision, Community Mobilization of Sex workers/and their clients.
She joined the Strengthening STD/HIV Control Project of the Universities of Nairobi and Manitoba in 1992 where she worked in various capacities as a Training Team leader, Technical Officer, Capacity Building and the Programme Coordinator.
The project having ended in 2006, it was succeeded by the University of Nairobi, Centre for HIV Prevention and Research where Anne has continued as the Programme Coordinator from inception to date and is also the Research Assistant for KeFA Project.
Veronica Njeri Kamau, DIP. PHARMACY, CERTIFICATE IN COUNSELLING AND TOT CERTIFICATE IN STIs
Project Officer/Community Mobilizer KeFA 3
Veronica has a diploma in Pharmacy, certificate in counselling and Training of Trainers Certificate in the area of STD/HIV/AIDS. She is computer literate and has excellent leadership/communication and community mobilization skills. Veronica has worked in the field of HIV/AIDS from 1990 in different organizations including Christian Health Organization, World Vision, University of Nairobi, among others. Veronica worked at different capacities i.e. behavioral research, counselling, community mobilizer and capacity building.
In 1997, she joined the University of Nairobi, Strengthening STD/HIV/AIDS Control Project which in 2006 developed into UoN-CHIVPR. She is working in KeFA 3 as the community mobilizer.
Jennifer Njoki Kihara- KRN/KRM/, DIP. MEDICAL SECRETARY
Administrative Assistant – UON-CHIVPR/KEFA
Jennifer has nursing/midwifery background and has a diploma in medical secretarial services. She is excellent in computer and organizational skills. She joined the Strengthening STD/HIV/AIDS Control Project in Kenya in 1991 where she worked for more than 15 years as a senior secretary. The project having ended in 2006, it was succeeded by the University of Nairobi, Centre for HIV Prevention and Research where Jennifer has continued as Administrative Assistant/Secretary for the Centre and KEFA Project.
Ephantus Mwangi Macharia
Driver/Messenger
Mr. Macharia has been a driver with the University of Nairobi. First with the Strengthening STD/HIV/AIDS Control Project in 2004 to 2006, then with the Centre for HIV Prevention and Research where he is the Driver/Messenger for the Centre and KeFA Project
Teresia M. Mutunga, MESSENGER/CLEANER UoN-CHIVPR
Cleaner/Messenger
Teresia is a Montessori trained Teacher with 5 years experience. She joined the University of Nairobi Centre for HIV Prevention and Research (UoN-CHIVPR) in December, 2007 where she is the cleaner/messenger for the Centre and KeFA Project.
