USA Today Article Features Research by Katrina Leupp and Julie Brines
The April 20 CSDE eNews included a notice that Julie Brines was quoted in USA Today on multitasking and family life. Julie has kindly notified us that CSDE Fellow Kartrina Leupp should have also been acknowledged in the USA Today article.
As Julie put it: "As sometimes happens, the USAT article was not quite accurate. It was written to suggest that I was presenting the PAA paper, when in fact the lead author of the paper, Katrina Leupp, a CSDE graduate fellow, presented the paper (she gave a practice talk at the CSDE seminar a few weeks ago). The original research that captured the attention of the media is largely Katrina's work, and while the reporter chose not to make note of that, I am hoping to get the word out!"
The PAA paper is:
Nine to Five No More? The Persistence of Nonstandard Work Schedules within Families
Katrina M. Leupp, University of Washington
Sabino Kornrich, United States Studies Centre
Julie E. Brines, University of Washington
More information about the paper is here.

There was also an April 15 New York Times article about the research, with many reader comments. It's here.
