Diane Morrison awarded NICHD grant to examine sexual risk taking behavior among heterosexual men
Diane Morrison, Professor of Social Work and CSDE Affiliate, has been awarded a five-year NICHD R01 grant for her research project entitled Heterosexual Men's Perspectives on Sexual Behavior and Sexual Risk Taking. In this project, Professor Morrison develops and tests an expanded model of heterosexually active young men’s sexual risk taking behavior, explicating mechanisms as well as outcomes. Using a sexual scripts perspective, the study incorporates intrapsychic, interpersonal and cultural levels into this new model, which will expand on the social cognitive models that have dominated sexual risk behavior research in the first two decades of HIV research.
