Emi Tamaki - New CSDE Fellow 2008-2009

Emi's research interests include immigration, fertility, social change, comparative sociology, and research methodology. Her current project explores the effect of globalization on movements of people. Specifically, she examines the determinants and consequences of immigrants' continued ties with their countries of origin. She also compares the different mechanisms of home country engagement among Latino and Asian Americans.

Emi is in the sociology program as is sponsored by the Shanahan Endowment.
