CURRENT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
Graduate
students and faculty members, from universities in the United States and
Vietnam, are presently conducting a variety of research projects using
VLS data. Kim Korinek, a doctoral candidate in the University of
Washington Department of Sociology, is currently examining gender, occupational
stratification, and changing household economic strategies in the VLS study
area. Phuong Lan Nguyen is currently writing her Master's thesis
on the determinants of educational attainment in the VLS study area.
Sang Thanh Le and Charles Hirschman are writing a paper on the sources
of household income in the VLS study communes.
