Assays
The following is a list of the in-house assays routinely employed in the Biodemography Lab. Many
of these assays were developed in our lab specifically for population-level biomarker research. We
are working continuously to expand this list of in-house assays to meet the demand for new biomarker tools.

- Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG)
- Specific Gravity
See Miller et al. (2004) Clinical Chemistry 50: 924-932.

- Creatinine
See Miller et al. (2004) Clinical Chemistry 50: 924-932.

In addition to these, our lab has the capacity to measure many biomarkers using commercial assay kits, including kits based on enzyme, fluorescence, time-resolved fluorescence, or luminescence assay formats. Commercial kits, while often too expensive for very large projects, can be very useful for pilot work or for smaller projects.
