Prerequisites
To use the CSDE VPN Server you will need:
- A computer running any version of the Windows operating system.
- Broadband internet (e.g. cable or DSL) in your home, or another fast network connection (e.g. another university's network or broadband in a hotel).
- The CSDE VPN connection software installed on your computer.
WARNINGS
The VPN connection encrypts all network traffic going into or out of your computer. It also forces every network connection to go through the VPN server, even if it's not destined for a CSDE server. Here are some important things to remember while using VPN:
- If you have any network connections open when you connect to the VPN, they may be closed.
- Log off VPN when not using CSDE resources. Otherwise, all of your network traffic will continue to be funneled through the VPN server, including web browsing, etc. This is unnecessary and may cause delays for you and others.
