Visual displays of data are becoming increasingly important in social science research to the point where
they can make or break a presentation or paper. A good graphic is not only memorable, but it helps promote a deeper
level of understanding in your reader. Well-designed visual displays can also help researchers uncover patterns
and relationships in the data that might otherwise be missed.
The Statistics Core will assist you in creating:
- visual displays of your data for exploratory purposes
- visual displays of your data for presentation purposes
If you know what you would like in a graphic, we can create a publication quality graphic to your detailed
specifications. If you have a sense of what you want to convey, but need help designing a graphic, we are happy
to do this also. If you want assistance trying to understand the complexities of your data, we can help with
visual displays of your data for exploratory purposes.
We would like to acknowledge Chris Adolph's excellent CSSS class, "Visualizing Data", and recommend it to
anyone interested in this important topic.
