Introduction to SAS

This workshop is given in two, 2-hour sessions, totaling 4 hours.

Note: This is not a statistics class. You will need to have taken a statistics class or have equivalent experience to benefit from learning to use this software.

Description

Introuction to SAS
Duration: Two 2 hour hands on sessions

This workshop assumes no previous experience with SAS
Prerequisites: Familiarity with MS Windows environment and knowledge of fundamental statistical concepts.

  • Navigating OUTPUT in the RESULTS window
  • Libraries and the EXPLORER window
  • SAS default features
  • Importing and exporting datasets
  • Creating and saving datasets
  • Viewing values and contents of data
  • Basic DATA STEP processing
  • Debugging via the LOG
  • Operations and functions
  • Formats, creating and assigning
  • Descriptive statistics procedures like PROC UNIVARIATE and PROC FREQ
  • Introduction to regression procedures like PROC REG and PROC LOGISTIC
