STATA I: Beginning STATA or IS STATA REALLY AS FRIENDLY AS THEY SAY?

Duration: Two 2-hour hands-on workshops

Note: This workshop assumes no previous experience with STATA.

Prerequisites: Familiarity with MS Windows environment and knowledge of fundamental statistical concepts.

  • Importing and Saving Stata data files
  • Describing data
  • Using the documentation and point-and-click methods
  • Subsetting data
  • Creating new variables and changing values of existing variables
  • Regression
  • Graphics
  • Merging datasets and reshaping
