CSDE Research Areas:
René’s primary research interests are in the fields of international migration, race and ethnicity, and social stratification. More specifically he studies the social dynamics that shape public attitudes towards immigrants, the social consequences of interracial relationships, racial and ethnic stratification in Latin America, as well as patterns of immigrant adaptation in Europe. He has published seven peer-reviewed articles and three book chapters. He teaches classes on immigration, race, and ethnicity.
