Jerusha Achterberg was in the Ph.D. program in biocultural anthropology at the University of Washington, focusing on the dynamics of tuberculosis in small, distributed human populations with a concentration in statistics in the social sciences. Also at the University of Washington, she completed an M.A. in biocultural anthropology surveying the mathematical modeling of tuberculosis, and an M.P.H. in epidemiology. Her research work reflects her interests in human evolution and our understanding of biological evolution. She has now taken a position as Preceptor, at the Harvard College Writing Program.
