Gierdrius is currently working as an Economist at Euromonitor International, and as a lecturer in the Department of Econometric Analysis at Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at Vilnius University. He received a PhD in Economics from the University of Washington in 2009. His general research interests are in the area of empirical industrial organization, labor economics, applied microeconomics, and applied econometrics. His dissertation consists of diverse set of topics in family economics, ranging from early contraception behavior and marriage to intra-household allocation problems after divorce.
