Christina is a former CSDE trainee from the UW School of Social Work, and received her PhD in Social Welfare (2014). She is currently an assistant professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, as well as an affiliate member investigator of the CDC-Healthy Brain Research Network (HBRN) at UW Health Promotion Research Center (HPRC). Her research interests include racial/ethnic health disparities among older adults, mental health and cultural issues among immigrant caregivers of older adults pertinent to migration, and cognitive health and well-being of older adults. While at UW, she worked under the supervision of CSDE affiliate Drs. Stewart Tolnay (former), David Takeuchi (former), Gunnar Almgren (current) and Diane Morrison (former), on multiple projects assessing the effects of social isolation on mental and physical health of older Americans across race/ethnicity.
