
Jonathan’s research interests include: Armed Conflict, Demography, Epidemiology, Genocide, Global Health, International Development, and Southeast Asia. His dissertation research examines the intergenerational impact of the Khmer Rouge genocide on child and maternal health. He currently works as a research associate with the Strategic Analysis, Research and Training (START) Center in the Department of Global Health, which supports the work of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in areas of global health and international development. Prior work experience includes working with victims of human trafficking and refugees from Southeast Asia, and facilitating community development and public health based programs in Thailand and Cambodia. As a linguistic enthusiast, he enjoys studying Bahasa Indonesian, Khmer, and Thai.
