This presentation describes data innovations which will bring new capacity to analyze the impact of local minimum wage laws and other policy interventions on household income and program participation. Using a resource which we have developed in conjunction with state agencies, the Washington Merged Longitudinal Administrative Data (WMLAD), we have augmented Unemployment Insurance (UI) administrative employment and earnings records with individual demographic and geographic identifiers. We have developed and are in the process of testing methods to construct households from these data.

Elizabeth Pelletier is a PhD student at the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance at UW and a CSDE trainee. Previously, she worked as a researcher at the Urban Institute and was a Fulbright research grantee.
