Terms of use for CSDE’s NIH-funded resources

All aspects of CSDE’s research support (labs, computing, seed funding, training of your graduate students, time of our senior faculty and staff to support your research, administration of your grants, seminar series, and working groups) are supported by NIH. These requirements are described here in a blog from NIH and in this regulation. If your work has benefitted from any aspect of the above activities and resources, it is a requirement that you:

  • agree to deposit your publication / manuscript in PubMed Central. Note that this is a public access requirement for all peer-reviewed journal articles that have made direct use of NIH funds (in CSDE’s case, this applies with use of our computing services).
  • agree to link your paper within PubMed Central to pertinent CSDE grant numbers:
    • P2C HD042828 (for research support)
    • T32 HD101442 (for training support you may have benefitted from)
    • Any other relevant NIH grant that has funded your research

Please see the rest of this page and the Pubmed linking page for more detail on how to accomplish these.

When you acknowledge NIH support within a publication, you should also provide the following disclaimer:

“The content is solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily represent the official views of the National Institutes of Health.”

Linking and Public Access Requirement – PMCID

Make sure to deposit your manuscript in PubMed Central if your journal publisher does not do this automatically. This is a public access requirement for all peer-reviewed journal articles that have made direct use of NIH funds (in CSDE’s case, this applies with use of our core services). When you do so, please link your paper to the pertinent CSDE grant number(s) (see above) and any other relevant NIH grant. You can easily list multiple grants when you deposit manuscripts in the NIH manuscript submission system.
