CSDE Trainee Desiree Salais was just competitively selected as a member of the 2025 cohort of affiliated students in the International Max Planck Research School for Population, Health and Data Science. As an affiliated student, Salais will join a select group of PhD candidates from across Europe and the U.S who seek advanced training in demography and data science and who will develop cutting-edge research projects that integrate data science and demography techniques and data. Her research focuses on the health disparities regarding Latinx/Hispanic communities and women of color in the United States. Salais aims to utilize this opportunity to expand her research on fertility of women of color and how policy can hold broader implications for this population. Congratulations Desiree!
