Assistant/Associate Professor of Economics

The Division of Finance and Economics housed in Marshall University’s AACSB-accredited Lewis College of Business (LCOB) invites applications for a tenure-track position in the general area of macroeconomics at the Assistant/Associate professor level beginning fall 2018. Other areas of interest are money and banking and monetary theory and policy. The standard teaching load is three courses per semester.

Qualifications

PhD in economics. ABD’s with a firm completion date before August 2018 will be considered.  We attach considerable importance to a team-player committed to excellence in teaching a rich and diverse community of learners.  The candidate will also be a teacher-scholar and must have experience or demonstrate the ability to publish in quality journals.  The successful applicant will contribute to university service and to the university’s general education curriculum with its emphasis on a common First Year Seminar and core courses intended to enhance student’s critical thinking skills.  The candidate will also be expected participate in interdisciplinary programs within the LCOB.

Application Details

Review of applications begins March 15 and continues until position is filled.  Complete application packages should include a cover letter, vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, teaching evaluations, research interests, a research or job market paper (double-sided), graduate transcripts and names and addresses of three references.  Short-listed candidates who interview on campus must have official transcripts (undergraduate and graduate) forwarded directly to the Chair of the Search and Screen Committee by their degree-granting institutions prior to their interview on campus.
