The Department of Geography at the University at Buffalo is seeking outstanding applicants for a tenure-track faculty position (Assistant Professor) in Geographic Information Sciences (GIScience). A competitive startup package will be provided to the successful candidate.
The University at Buffalo (UB) is the largest and most comprehensive campus in the State University of New York (SUNY) system. The Department of Geography is a nationally-ranked unit noted for significant advances in Earth systems science, economic geography, geospatial analysis and modeling, GIScience, health geography, and remote sensing. The successful candidate will join a world-class group of educators and researchers that was recently designated a Center of Academic Excellence in Geospatial Sciences by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the United States Geological Survey. It is also home to the National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis, which provides leadership in GIScience research across multiple disciplines.
Applicants should have a PhD (or other doctorate degree) and a scholarly publication record. The successful candidate will be expected to successfully secure external funds for research and to participate in graduate and undergraduate teaching, consistent with the tenured ranks at AAU institutions.
To apply, electronically submit a curriculum vitae, description of current and future research interests (three pages maximum), copies of published work (no more than three), and contact information for three referees to: https://www.ubjobs.buffalo.edu/postings/13166.
