Assistant Professor of Social Work

The School of Social Work at Colorado State University invites applications for three faculty positions at the assistant (tenure track) to associate professor rank. The 9-month tenure/tenure track appointment will begin January, 2018 or August, 2018.

Applicants are sought with an expertise in behavioral health (mental health, alcohol and drug prevention/treatment), human-animal interventions, aging, health/well-being, child welfare, or social justice which enhance the existing research strengths in our School, College, and University. However, applicants with other research expertise are invited to apply.

Candidates are required to have a doctoral degree in social work or a related discipline, demonstrated ability to conduct impactful scholarly research and publish in peer-reviewed venues, an active and well-articulated research agenda coupled with interest and ability to secure external grant funding, ability to teach at the BSW, MSW, and/or PhD levels, and to advise MSW research projects and/or doctoral dissertations. Applicants should understand and be able to facilitate conversations around privilege, oppression, and intersecting social identities. To teach practice classes in the MSW program, applicants must have a MSW degree from an accredited social work program and a minimum of two (2) years post-master’s professional practice experience. Applicants should have a personal and professional commitment to diversity and social justice.
