Portland State University School of Social Work has two position openings for the following:

Associate Professor: The School of Social Work at Portland State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Associate Professor. Our School seeks applicants to teach in the Master of Social Work program with a substantive focus on research and scholarship, teaching, and service in the area of health across the lifespan with a focus on aging. Interested candidates who demonstrate an ability and interest in participating in realizing and moving forward the mission, values, and vision of the School,  particularly those with knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to racial equity and related frameworks are strongly encouraged to apply. The position is a nine-month, full-time academic appointment, scheduled to begin September 2018.

Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice: The Master of Social Work program in Portland State University’s School of Social Work invites applications for one non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice. Our program seeks applicants to provide instruction in the MSW program advanced clinical practice sequence, foundation practice courses, and electives. Various assignments for non-tenure track instructional and research faculty may include direct instruction, supporting scholarly activities, and service to the University, community, and profession. This is a nine-month, full-time academic appointment, scheduled to begin September 2018.   We primarily seek applicants who have professional experience in adult mental health and are skilled at cross-agency collaboration. Ideal candidates will also provide evidence of experience working effectively around issues of social justice, diversity, racial equity, and inclusion, with demonstrated capacity to meet the needs of underrepresented students and other marginalized groups. Previous experience in graduate education and/or online instruction is highly preferred.
