CSDE Biomarker Working Group Hosted Guest Speaker Thom McDade

On December 5, Dr. Thom McDade (Anthropology, Northwestern University) joined the CSDE Biomarker Working Group and gave a seminar entitled “Three common assumptions about inflammation and aging that are probably wrong.” He is a leader in the field of biomarkers for population health research. His work focuses on how experiences become biology across the life course, and his lab, like the UW Biodemography Lab, specializes in the development and application of minimally invasive methods for studying human biology and health in diverse community-based settings around the world.

The Biomarker Working Group meets on the first Thursday of each month. This a forum for discussing practical and theoretical issues related to collecting and using biomarker data in social and behavioral science research.
