National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Institutes Program Solicitation and Webinar

Please note the solicitation NSF 20-604 and associated webinar (September 21, 2020 – 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm) for National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Institutes: Accelerating Research, Transforming Society, and Growing the American Workforce. Each award will be up to $20M and the intent is that projects be multidisciplinary.
There are at least two themes that call out for SBE community participation:
Theme 1: Human-AI Interaction and Collaboration
Theme 4: Advances in AI and Computer and Network Systems
Many projects in Theme 4 are expected to include use cases and applications which would benefit from the inclusion of social scientists from their inception. The solicitation NSF 20-604 can be found at
