*New* On the Move – Knowledge Exchange on Transfers: Policy and Practice (08/28/26)

ON-THE-MOVE, a collaboration between the University of Cape Town, Oxford, and the University of Washington, is working to build evidence and co-design interventions to support mobile people living with HIV to remain engaged with care. Building on the first webinar’s exploration of mobility and its implications for HIV care, this webinar turns to the practical and policy dimensions of supporting patients through transitions in care. The session will examine the policies that govern patient transfers, before moving into a detailed look at the real-world management challenges these transitions present, covering what providers are expected to do, the boundaries of what is and isn’t possible, and how to navigate both the clinical and psychosocial dimensions of care for mobile patients. The webinar will close with a facilitated discussion, creating space for participants to reflect on and share their own practice experiences.
