Posted: 8/6/2026 ()

The Call for Papers for the PAA 2027 Annual Meeting is available! We look forward to a full and rigorous scientific conference in Seattle next spring, March 31 through April 3. The submission system will open tomorrow, August 5 and the deadline for submissions is September 20.

Please note a few important items:

  • All accepted presenters will be required to register for the conference by February 4, 2027.
  • Individuals can only serve as a presenting author twice on the program (but can have additional roles such as chair or discussant).
  • Organizers will not review papers from authors with whom they have a conflict of interest (close collaborators or current students/postdocs). As such, please do not submit your abstract to someone with whom you may have a conflict of interest.
  • Unfortunately, PAA cannot accommodate schedule requests; if your paper or poster is accepted, it could be scheduled any time during the annual meeting dates (April 1, 2, or 3) and there will not be a virtual option.

The submission site will open on Wednesday, August 5 for submissions. The deadline for all submissions is Sunday, September 20, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

Attention Trainees & Fellows! The 2027 Population Association of America Conference will take place in Seattle.  We hope to have a record number of submissions from CSDE this year.

CSDE is partnering with the Minnesota Population Center (MPC) to run a PAA abstract submission workshop. Please fill out the following form if you are interested in participating. CSDE Training Core PI/Director Audrey Dorélien and CSDE seminar organizer Hyungmin Cha will be leading some of the breakout sessions along with MPC training directors.

This virtual workshop will be held on September 18, from 10:15-11:15 AM. The deadline for PAA submission is two days later (September 20th at 11:59 pm Pacific Time).

Looking for feedback on your 150-word abstract? Having trouble deciding which session to submit to? Not sure what should go into an extended abstract? Get the answers to these questions and network with faculty and students from another population center.
