Planned outages and maintenance windows

In order to provide you with the best experience possible, it is necessary to regularly monitor, patch, update, and secure the CSDE computing systems.
Microsoft releases weekly security patches and fixes. Linux updates may come at any time and often fix serious bugs and issues. Many system updates require that CSDE reboot the systems and in doing so, terminate all user jobs and sessions.

We strive to balance the need for system uptime with the need to keep systems up to date. To this end, we have adopted the following PLANNED OUTAGE SCHEDULE for CSDE systems:

CSDE Terminal Servers

CSDE-TS1, CSDE-TS2, CSDE-TS4, CSDE-TS5

Twice Weekly:
Late PM Monday *and* Thursday
AKA Tuesday/Friday early AM

CSDE Simulation Cluster

SIM1-SIM4

Monthly on the last Friday
