Two Job Population Forecasting Job Opportunities
The Population Group within Washington State’s Office of Financial Management is recruiting a Forecast Analyst and a Senior Forecast Analyst:
- As the Forecast Analyst, you will be part of a team that produces a variety of population estimates and forecasts at the state, county and sub-county levels. You will lead OFM’s annexation and boundary certification functions working closely with local governments, state agencies and the U.S. Census Bureau.
- The Senior Forecast Analyst supports state, county and sub-county estimate work that is required by Washington State statute, using expert level knowledge in software development, modeling, forecasting and professional leadership. You will develop and produce the age, sex, race and Hispanic origin estimates (Small Area Demographic Estimates) for Washington State geographies down to the census block, working closely with other Office of Financial Management (OFM) analysts and partner agencies during the process.

Dr. Jennie Brand, UCLA’s California Center for Population Research, is joining the Center for Statistics in the Social Sciences seminar to give a talk on sorting out the heterogeneity in college effects that is so frequently observed in education analyses.
