Adhia and Bekemeier Publish Research Article in Public Health Nursing Journal

CSDE Affiliates Avanti Adhia (Child, Family, and Population Health Nursing), Betty Bekemeier (Child, Family, and Population Health Nursing), and their co-authors recently published a research article in the Public Health Nursing journal titled, “The Role of Community Health Professionals in Addressing Intimate Partner Violence: A Scoping Review.” Community settings, such as homes, community-based organizations, and schools, are important loci for addressing intimate partner violence (IPV). Dr. Adhia, Dr. Bekemeier, and their team identified and synthesized studies on the role of community health professionals in preventing IPV. More specifically, they considered the range and type of interventions used by community health professionals in community settings and whether these interventions appear to be effective in reducing IPV.
