Elizabeth Mogford’s teaching and research are interdisciplinary, combining sociology and public health. Her research interests include the social determinants of health, global health, and gender and reproductive health. She was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon and has conducted research in India and Mexico. In addition to teaching and research, Liz works on advocacy and outreach for advancing global health equity. Currently this includes being a board member of Health Alliance International, a non-profit global health organization based in Seattle, and in running an organization called the Population Health Project. Liz’s favorite pastime is backpacking and being at high elevations.
