A film based on work by the NGO founded by former UW Population Policy Leadership Fellow (PPLF) Dr. Abhijit Das (Clinical associate professor, Dept. of Global Health) has been nominated for the 2024 Academy Awards for the best feature documentary! The film is called “To Kill a Tiger” and is directed by Nisha Pahuja. The film draws on work by the Centre for Health and Social Justice (CHSJ), a health policy research and advocacy organization in India. It tells the story of a young girl who, following her rape, undergoes a journey of empowerment. Watch the film’s trailer here!
