Assistant Professor of Social Work

The Department of Social Work at Lewis University is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of Social Work. This is a full-time, tenure track role, beginning in the 2018-2019 academic year. As a department, we are looking for colleagues who are passionate about diversity, inclusion, social justice, and community engagement. We seek individuals who are committed to enhancing our growth in those areas.
Primary Responsibilities
Teach four classes per semester primarily in the undergraduate program. Assist in the development of the Social Work program accreditation reports. Engage in scholarship, academic advising, and services to the university and community.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Social Work. Master’s degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited school of social work. At least two years of full-time post-MSW employment in social work. Previous university/college teaching experience in social work at an accredited institution at the undergraduate and/or graduate level; experience at both levels is highly desirable. Clinical licensure in social work is required. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, social justice, and community engagement. Potential for scholarly productivity or professional impact in a clearly defined area of professional practice. Applicants should also have an ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning, the ability work collaboratively, evidence of scholarly activity.
Preferred Qualifications
Clinical work serving children and adolescents is preferred. Micro and/or macro practice experience is preferred.
