Post-Seminar Graduate Student Discussion with External Speakers

All CSDE Trainees, Fellows, and students enrolled in CSDE 501 are encouraged to participate in a discussion with external seminar speakers immediately following the seminar. Students engage in a group discussion about the speaker’s research and career trajectory. It is a rare opportunity to make professional connections with leading population researchers from different institutions.

Each discussion is facilitated by a CSDE Trainee or Fellow whose research interests are adjacent to or overlap with those of the speaker. CSDE Trainees and Fellows who would like to attend should RSVP via email to the student host. When attending in person, please RSVP 24 hours prior to seminar and include any dietary restrictions or preferences.  When held remotely or in a hybrid format, the discussion will take place following the seminar in a separate Zoom meeting from the seminar’s webinar format. The link will be circulated in the flyer announcing the discussion and shared again in the seminar’s webinar chat.  When held in person or in a hybrid format, the discussion and lunch will be held in Hans Rosling Center 101 unless otherwise noted.
