Postdoctoral Position in Water Policy

Information: We are looking for an excellent post-doctoral fellow to work on issues related to water policy, broadly defined. The research needs to include a transboundary aspect. The post-doctoral fellow will work with Prof. Eran Feitelson (http://geography.huji.ac.il/sites/default/files/geography/files/erancv.pdf) and Dr. Amit Tubi (https://en.geography.huji.ac.il/people/amit-tubi). Research topics may include, but are not limited to: cooperation / conflict over water resources, the water-energy nexus, desalination, resilience building processes in light of climate change, among other issues. The post-doctoral fellow will benefit from a stimulating research environment in a region located at the forefront of present and future water challenges, as well as exposure to cutting edge water policies and research.

The stipend is about 8,000 NIS / month. The preferred start date is March 2021, but this is flexible. Due to the circumstances imposed by the covid-19 pandemic, the postdoctoral fellow will be able to begin her / his work from abroad. However, we expect the post-doctoral fellow to arrive in Israel once the situation improves and travel restrictions are eased.

Multiple Assistant/Associate Professor Positions at the Maxwell School

  1. The Department of Sociology in the Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs invites applications for a tenure-track/tenured position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to begin Fall 2021. This recruitment is part of an ambitious Invest Syracuse Cluster Hire Initiative in the broad area of Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Systems, and the Human-Technology Frontier. As an integral part of this investment, Syracuse University will recruit multiple candidates for this cluster. Faculty hired into these positions will build on our existing strengths in the focus area and will participate in an organized research cluster that spans multiple departments in the Maxwell School and across Syracuse University.We seek a scholar with a strong background and research interest in the connections between emerging technologies (i.e. AI, autonomous systems, etc.) and the future of work/ workers.     Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Sociology or a related discipline and must show success in scholarly achievement and productivity, as well as a commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching. The department seeks candidates whose research, teaching, and service have prepared them to

We are seeking a scholar of race with preference given to applicants who specialize in African American/Black American/Black immigrant experiences and issues, and have an active research program that uses field-based qualitative research methods. The successful candidate for this position will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in qualitative research methods, with an emphasis on interviewing and ethnography, in addition to substantive courses on race and related topics.
